The primary function of the psychopomp is to help the spirit or soul of an individual to cross over to a safe place at the time of death. They are called to help the souls of those who are trapped in either lower vibrational planes of existence or in what is known as the middle world or our world. The work of a psychopomp is important, not just for the compassionate care of those who’s bodies have died, but also for the health of those who have living bodies and are transitioning to their death.

This work can include:
 - helping to restore balance between the family and the deceased or dying
 - help the dying with unfinished business and finding forgiveness
 - visualizing the path of tears or the path you take when you die to help eliminate fear of death
 - cleansing and closing chakras called The Great  Death Spiral
 - journeying to a sudden death/stuck/lost soul and helping them to find peace and bring them to the light
